Huntersville, N.C. – On Friday, April 24, one hundred and sixteen alumni and supporters of the Davidson Golf Program took to the links at Birkdale Golf Club for the 15^th Annual Tom Scott Memorial Golf Tournament.

Sponsored by the Davidson Athletic Foundation, the tournament serves as an annual fundraiser for the Davidson College golf program. This year the tournament netted over $23,000 for golf scholarships.

The Tournament is named in honor of Dr. Tom Scott, former Director of Athletics at Davidson from 1954 to 1975.  Dr. Scott left a thumb print on regional sports as five-term president of Southern Conference, and will also be remembered as a leader in integrating athletics throughout the South, and by helping prepare Davidson for women’s athletics in 1974.
