Hometown: Canton, Mass. Caring About Healthcare What happens when you mix a political science major with a pre-medical track ? A deeply rooted dedication to healthcare. “Health is the most fundamental aspect to life. Without good health and opportunities for good health, everything else takes a backseat. What I care about is beyond the science of it, the way you can really relate to people on the grounds that health is universal.” Sutures in Peru Spent his fall semester with Davidson’s new study abroad program in Peru, taking four classes and interning in a clinic on the outskirts of Arequipa. Mistaken for a doctor, he had to decline a suturing job on his first day! Describes the true doctor who rescued him as “a real mentor,” one of the most important relationships from his trip. Neither Rain nor Sleet Has delivered UPS packages over the last two winter breaks: “You get chased by dogs a lot! But it’s a great way to keep up the work energy you have at Davidson, but also be doing something completely different.” Into Africa Traveled to Mwandi with a Davidson trip last summer. “I love how Davidson does international programs. From my experience in the clinic in Peru, I realized how much I learned in just that one context and knew that going to Mwandi for a month would be one of the best experiences in my life.”
