
Green Week, an annual Davidson tradition, will take place this year from February 9th to 13th and will consist of several days of programs put on by the Environmental Action Coalition (EAC), a student organization whose work is targeted at raising environmental awareness on campus and promoting efforts toward making Davidson College more sustainable. Everything you need to make creative, eco-friendly Valentines will be provided! 7:00-9:00 pm, Union Atrium 5th Annual Green Ball, Friday, February 13: The 5th Annual Green Ball is a contra-dance fundraiser for the Davidson Lands Conservancy, a local non-profit that works to preserve green areas and protect biodiversity in the Town of Davidson. Contra dance is a friendly, inclusive dance form. A Contra Ball does not require that you bring a partner or know how to dance. As you can see from the "formal" contra dance photos on this page, you don't even need a fancy dress or tux. On the other hand, a ball is a fine excuse to dress up if that's your style. There will be free lessons provided by local caller Kenny Greer. Live music will be provided by Appalachian Storm. Waltzing and Swing dance music will also be offered during the course of the evening. Refreshments will be provided. There will be a silent auction with local art, vacation rentals, cooking classes, and more!
