Students you can win BIG prizes in the National and Regional Competitions that will be administered at Davidson.  These are problem solving contents with a few very challenging problems.  Virginia Tech is a good "warm up" for the Putnam.

Virginia Tech Regional Mathematical Contest

     Inquire and sign up by Wednesday, 29 October 2008

Putnam Mathematical Competition 
   --   Saturday, 6 December 2008, 10-1 and 3-6 p.m. --
   Inquire and sign up by Wednesday, 3 December 2008

Dr. Klein (Chambers 3031, ext 2318 beklein) has more information and will be happy to sign you up as a participant in one or both contests.
