North Carolina's Poet Laureate, Kathryn Stripling Byer received her B.A. from Wesleyan College in Georgia and her MFA degree from UNC-Greensboro. She has published five books of poetry, including The Girl in the Midst of the Harvest, Catching Light, and Coming to Rest. The 2007 recipient of the Hanes Award for Poetry from The Fellowship of Southern Writers, Byer resides in Cullowhee, NC.
Featuring Appalachian songs set and arranged by North Carolina classical composer and North Carolina School of the Arts faculty member, Kenneth Frazelle, sung by soprano and Davidson College Artist Associate, Jacquelyn Culpepper. VIEW EVENT POSTER
