Jason Shaffer
Associate Dean of Students/
Director of Residence Life

Jason joined the Davidson community in July 2012 after eleven years at the University of Virginia. He brings a wealth of experience in residence life, social norms marketing, alcohol education and addressing sexual assault. Jason received his B.A. from Penn State and his M.Ed. from James Madison University. You can expect to see Jason, his wife Karen and their daughter Zoe enjoying a wide range of Davidson events.

Donny Edwards 
Associate Director of Residence Life

Donny arrived at Davidson in July 2008 and is loving his work with residential facilities and housing operations.  He is passionate about sports, history, politics, and his family (including wife Angie, daughter Leah, son Connor, and their dog Abby).  Donny received his bachelor's degree from Southwestern University, and his master's from Texas A&M University.

Shanoya Conner
Area Coordinator - Belk
Social Justice Education Coordinator

Originally from Brooklyn, New York; Shanoya received her B.S. in Child Development from Appalachian State University and her M.A.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech. While at VT, she served as the Graduate Assistant for Multicultural Program and Services. In her spare time, Shanoya enjoys being active, social media, popular culture, and spending time with family and friends.

Jenna DeGroot
Area Coordinator - New Hall, Tomlinson, Irwin, Akers, Knox
Sophomore Program Advisor

Jenna received her Bachelor's degree in English Education from Florida State University and taught high school English before completing her Master's degree at the University of South Florida. Jenna and her husband Doug enjoy staying active and watching sports, especially football (Go Noles and Packers) and baseball (Go Rays and Cubs). In her free time, Jenna enjoys reading, watching movies, and exploring. 

Emily Julian
Area Coordinator - Cannon, Richardson, Watts
First-Year Experience Coordinator

Emily recently received her M.S. from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio after completing her B.A. in psychology from Denison University. Although currently from Cleveland, Ohio, Emily calls five states home, including New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Ohio. In her free time, Emily loves traveling, reading, running, and spending time with her dog, Cosette. Emily is elated to be a Davidson Wildcat!

Brian Lackman
Area Coordinator - Duke, Little, Sentelle, Martin Court
Residential Curriculum Coordinator

Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Brian received his B.A from Chestnut Hill College and his M.S. in Educational Leadership Studies from Oklahoma State University. He served as the graduate assistant for the Student Union Activities Board and the Department of Campus Life while at OKState. Additionally, Brian held internships in Student Conduct, Career Services, and the Office of the Vice-President for Student Affairs. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, baking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Debby Harrison
Housing Operations Coordinator

Debby enjoys working with students as witnessed by her longevity at Davidson.  Since 1983 she has seen the Residence Life Office grown from a staff of two to nine.  “Davidson is a home-away-from-home and has exemplified for me a great place to have a career, work with great colleagues and create a great residential experience for our students.”  A life-long resident of Mooresville, she has two grown children and two grandchildren.

Mary Ann Shessler
Coordinator of Budgets and Facilities

Mary Ann considers herself a native Chicagoan, an adopted Bostonian and a North Carolinian since 2008. With over 20 years in the educational field at all levels, she enjoys working with students and meeting new people through her work in RLO. A graduate of Northern Illinois University with both a BS and MS in education, Mary Ann and her husband Paul have three grown children and one amazing granddaughter. Outside the office her interests include reading, playing cards and any and all water sports and activities.

Bobbie Webster
Office Manager / Staff Assistant

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Bobbie received her BA in Political Science from Baldwin Wallace College. She has been with Davidson for the last five years before joining the Res Life Office. Joyfully, her family has made the move to Charlotte, so life is filled with spending quality time with nieces and nephews.
