There are many free resources available to parents who are searching for safe, affordable childcare for their children. 

The NC Division of Child Development - this site contains links to many resources to help make your decisions easier.  Also included on this site is a searchable child care "look up" system that details information about a center (star ratings, health inspection information, etc.)

Child Care Resources, Inc. - this non-profit organization helps connect parents with child care in the Mecklenburg, Union and Cabarrus counties.  They provide a free child care search option (via phone) that provides parents with a list of referrals to programs that meet their family's needs, including preferred type of care, location, operating hours, program costs, licensing information and many other program features not available on the North Carolina Division of Child Development website.
