Employee Assistance Program Description

Davidson College contracts with United Family Services in Charlotte to provide EAP services to all regular (non-temporary) employees and their families.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) focuses on assisting in personal and/or family problems that may cause instability and undue stress on the employee.  EAP services  help employees and family members to function better on the job and at home, to access early intervention for problem resolution, to address specific problems that may jeopardize employment, family stability and health, and to improve employee retention.

One of the goals of the EAP is to provide seamless service. That means they provide initial assessments and referral services, and short-term counseling when appropriate.

Some of the services that set Davidson College's EAP (United Family Services) apart include:

separation or divorce
• drug/alcohol problems
• grief and loss
• individual/family relationships
• child/elder care
• financial issues

 On-call counselor counselors available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week
