Wildcat Wellness understands that healthy lifestyle, personal risk management, and chronic disease management are keys to good health. Understanding that each of is accountable for our own health is the starting line. This initiative is crucial because:
Healthcare costs are rising at an alarming rate, nationally and at Davidson College, and employee wellness is key in stabilizing those costs;
Studies show that healthy employees are more productive, are absent from work less often, and suffer fewer injuries, resulting in fewer hours of lost work, all of which contribute to healthcare costs.

- Physical Education and Recreation Classes---8-10 week classes are available exclusively for Faculty and Staff. Pilates, Spinning, Yoga, Core & More, and Belly Dancing are a few examples
- On-campus Facilities--facilities to meet all of your wellness needs are found right on campus. They include Baker Sports Complex, Cannon Pool, and the Fitness Center, which are all resources available to faculty and staff

Davidson College contracts with a local physicians group for a nurse practitioner who specializes in prevention, risk factor awareness, and chronic disease management. These services are available to all Davidson College permanent employees.

Davidson College contracts with United Family Services to offer confidential counseling for many concerns, including depression, family relationships, grief, and stress & anxiety. There is no cost to employees for this benefit. Mortgage and financial counseling are available, as well.
