Mathematics students and faculty often gather for Math Coffees or special events. Math Coffees are usually weekly meetings to hear talks from students, faculty, or visiting speakers on ongoing research or interesting topics in mathematics. Snacks are available, though maybe not coffee. Social events include departmental picnics at the Lake Campus. The feature event of the year is the annual Bernard Lecture with preceding banquet where juniors and seniors are inducted into the Bernard Society.
