Allergy Clinic
Students receiving allergy injections must have clear and precise written instructions from their allergist. - Students are responsible for monitoring their own medication schedules and for reordering allergy extract.
- The Student Health Center requires students to sign a contract before injections may be done with agreement to remain at the health center for thirty minutes after each injection.
- Injections are given Monday through Friday, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm while a physician is in the facility.
Health Educator
The Health Educator provides individualized and group educational counseling services by appointment on a variety of issues including - alcohol and drugs
- stress
- STD’s
- women receiving their first pelvic exams and pap smears
The health educator also provides for programming in residence halls and across campus on a wide range of subjects such as nutrition, sexuality, body image, etc. Nutrition
Nutritional counseling with a registered dietician is available by appointment on site by calling the health center at 704-894-2300 and also through dining services. Prescriptions
Prescriptions are written by the physician and may be filled at CVS Pharmacy located on Main Street one block from campus or at the pharmacy of choice.
Vision Care
There are ophthalmologists in Mooresville (seven miles north) and Cornelius (one mile south). There are optometrists located in Davidson, approximately one-half mile south of the college. Other options are available in Charlotte (19 miles south).
Dental Care
Dental care is available to students at their own expense through several private offices in Davidson.
