Sponsored by the Davidson Athletic Foundation, the tournament serves as an annual fundraiser for the Davidson College golf program. This year the tournament netted over $20,000 for golf scholarships. The Tournament is named in honor of Dr. Tom Scott, former Director of Athletics at Davidson from 1954 to 1975. Dr. Scott left a thumb print on regional sports as five-term president of Southern Conference, and will also be remembered as a leader in integrating athletics throughout the South, and by helping prepare Davidson for women’s athletics in 1974. |
