Thirteen Davidson alumni/ae and parents participated on a rare chilly day in Savannah in a Davidson service project for Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.   The Davidsonians painted the interior of a home for Royce Sloan and her family.  Ms. Sloan, a middle school cafeteria worker, worked alongside the Davidson volunteers.  "It means so much that people who didn't have to come out here built a home for me and my daughter," Ms. Sloan commented.  She and her daughter, Destiny, age 5, will move into their first home this week.  The Savannah chapter plans its next event on Saturday, April 11, 2009, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in building another Habitat house for another Savannah family in need.  Photos by Jack Qualey, father of Megan Qualey '07.
