We're pleased to announce two Fulbright Full Grants for Davidson students this year. The Fulbright Full Grant supports a year of study and research abroad. It is a highly competitive scholarship, as the applicant pool includes not only graduating seniors, but mainly PhD candidates and other advanced graduate students.

Rachel Heidmann ‘08 (German) will study migration and integration policies in the Sociology Department at the University of Bamberg, Germany, in connection with the European Forum for Migration Studies there. Rachel is currently finishing up her senior thesis on legal and cultural aspects of various levels of residency status for foreigners in Germany.

Hannah Rogers-Ganter ‘08 (Political Science, German minor) will study renewable energy policy and environmental policy at the Environmental Policy Research Centre at the Free University of Berlin. Hannah is finishing up her senior thesis on renewable energy portfolio standards in the U.S. Hannah has also received a DAAD/German Academic Exchange Service grant for her research and study next year in Berlin.

We're also delighted to announce that Valerie Mason '07 (English, German minor) has been awarded a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship by the Austrian Fulbright Commission.

Congratulations to all three!
