Tonya J. Clay

Mixed Media Artist, Tonya J. Clay, is the 2006-08 Davidson College Visiting Assistant Professor of Art.

Reflecting on her work, Clay says, "I expect my painting to have strong psychological and emotional impact on myself as I go through the process of making them, and on viewers as they experience the finished work. I paint to express and release unconscious information in my psyche. My art represents the internal world of emotion and psychic activity, the essence of being human."
