The New York City chapter is comprised of active alumni, parents and friends of Davidson College totaling 1,347 people. Of that number, 791 are alumni. The Young Alumni chapter is defined by an alumnus/a that has graduated within the past ten years. Proudly, there are 359 young alumni residing in the New York City area.

13 November 2009 - New York Night with the Warriors and the Knicks
Over 200 Wildcats welcomed a Warrior, Stephen Curry '10, to New York City, Friday, November 13th at Madison Square Garden. After some pre-game comradery, the Davidson faithful lustily cheered on Steph in his only New York appearance for the '09-'10 NBA season. Good luck the rest of the season, Steph!

17 October 2009 - New York City Fall Service Project with NY Cares
As part of New York Cares Day, Davidson alums volunteered at PS 245 in Brooklyn where we painted a mural in the school's cafeteria. Chip and Chris also lent their brawn in cleaning up a teacher resource room. May the kids of PS 245 enjoy the mural as much as we enjoyed painting it!

20 September 2009 - New York City Tour of the New Yankee Stadium
On a beautiful Sunday morning in the Bronx, over 30 Wildcats from classes ranging from 1968 to 2009 convened with family and friends at the new Yankee Stadium for a tour of the grounds. We paid homage to Thurman Munson in the Yankee Museum, toured Monument Park in center field, made a call to the bullpen from the Yankee dugout, eyed the team's indoor batting cages, got a kick out of Nick Swisher's Yankees' gnome in the team clubhouse and enjoyed a stroll through the pictured Great Hall.

Host Merideth Durden Dolan '8016 August 2009 - New York City Summer Cookout 
On a hot and humid day in Irvington, New York, Merideth Durden Dolan '80 graciously opened her home, her grill and her pool to Davidson alumni. Alums from Pennsylvania, New York City and Connecticut, in turn, greeted Merideth with homemade goodies including a chocolate glazed, Rice Krispie Wildcat thanks to a trio of '05ers (Emily, Trey and Philip). Thank you for your hospitality, Merideth!

15 July 2009 - New York Opera in the Park: Verdi's "il Trovatore" 
On a beautiful night in Central Park, NYC Alumni with Celeste HolmDavidsonians, their friends and family enjoyed Verdi's "Il Trovatore" over brownies, peanut butter cookies and plastic cup contraband. After the show, we had the honor of meeting Oscar award winner, Celeste Holm! Just another great day to be a Wildcat in New York City! (Photo compliment of Grant Cooper)

25 April 2009 - NYC Service event with Hands on New York 
On a beautiful Saturday, local Davidson alumni from the '80s, '90s and '00s volunteered as part of NY Cares' Hands on NY Day. The group raked and bagged leaves from Crotona Park in the Bronx while trading stories and enjoying local grub from Southern Boulevard.
