Anna Summerell Hamilton is from Wilmington, NC. After a brief stint on the piano, Anna began playing the violin at age 7. In Wilmington, she studied with Lynda Rolfes and repeatedly participated in the North Carolina Honors Orchestra. Upon arrival at Davidson, Anna began studying with Artist Associate Martha Koljonen.
Anna was an English major, with a focus on Literature of Place. As a Music minor, Anna was very involved with the music department. She served as a steadfast member of the DCSO, and was a founding member of the Baroque Trio. She spent a summer studying abroad at Cambridge University, as well as a semester studying in London. She was also a proud member of Turner House.
Upon entering the real world in May of 2008, Anna planned to take a year off before heading to graduate school to pursue a degree in Arts Management.
