Support for Students with Disabilities

Davidson College recognizes that each student is unique and that learning styles vary. At the same time, the college is also aware that some students may struggle with a diagnosed cognitive disorder or other disability that makes the learning process unjustly challenging. As such the college is committed to the equality of education opportunity for qualified students.

The Dean of Students Office and the Center for Teaching and Learning collaborate to provide reasonable accommodations and services to qualifying students intending to ensure equal access, not guarantee success, to the academic environment. Services are provided on an individual basis based on diagnosis, current diagnostic information, and functional limitations. The college seeks to accommodate students in a manner that is determined to be reasonable and that does not compromise the integrity of the curriculum.
