Each year, with the help of student volunteers, the Physical Plant conducts a recycling audit. In an effort to recycle and reduce the amount of waste we generate, we first need to know what we are throwing away.  Campus trash is collected, then taken to a site to be sorted, weighed and categorized. The college strives to improve these ratios through education and awareness programs.

November 2008:

• 620 pounds of garbage were sorted.
• 123 pounds of recyclable material was recovered (19%).
• 42% reduction from the last recycling audit!
