Gifts to The Davidson Trust support the college's historic decision to meet 100% of demonstrated need of accepted students through a combination of grants and campus employment, with no loans.

Approximately, 45 percent of the first year class receives need-based scholarships, which may increase with the changing economy, as more students in each entering class qualify for need-based aid through The Davidson Trust.

Davidson's longstanding policy of need-blind admission can be summed up simply: a student's character and academic potential, not the family bank balance, are the factors considered for admission. We believe this is the surest and fairest way to continue attracting the best all-around students from across the nation and the world to the enduring value of a Davidson education.
