What is EMS?

Event Management Systems is a suite of scheduling tools used by Davidson to coordinate meetings, events and other resources.  (More Info)

Where do I find EMS Documentation and Training Materials?

EMS user documentation and training videos are available on Inside Davidson.   Materials may be found here for EMS Virtual, EMS Enterprise Client, and EMS Master Calendar. http://inside.davidson.edu/employees/Tech%20Tips/Forms/EMS.aspx  

How do I request an account?

Please contact the help desk (helpdesk@davidson.edu or x 2900)  and someone will assist you.

When I submit a request is the space held or must I wait for the confirmation?

At the time of request submission a hold is placed on the space preventing others from double-booking a space.  However, only after you have received a confirmation should you assume that the request has been approved. 

When should I expect to receive a confirmation for an open request?

Confirmations are sent within 48 hours of submission. If you do not receive a confirmation within 48 hours, contact the approver for the space or service that you've requested.

What events will appear in the EMS Events Calendar?

Most events requested and scheduled via EMS (client or virtual) by default will appear in the EMS Events Calendar that is viewable when a user chooses to "Browse Events".  There is no connection between the Ingeniux CMS Campus Calendar of Events and the EMS Events Calendar.  To publicize your event contact College Communications.

Events display on the EMS Calendar when the room, event type, and confirmation status are all set to 'Display on Web'. (For example, event types 'Academic Class' and 'Private Meeting' will not appear on the calendar.) If you are not seeing your event on the EMS calendar, contact the space approver with questions.

I manage my space using an Outlook Calendar, do I need EMS?

Yes, EMS will replace your existing Outlook calendar.  Contact the Help Desk to request assistance.
