Change of Procedures regarding repairs of college-owned network printers.
In-warranty and out-of-warranty service on Hewlett-Packard networked laser printers is handled through OfficeMax. To be covered under the agreement with OfficeMax, printers must be registered. All printers provided by ITS are automatically registered.
Please contact the Help Desk first for assistance troubleshooting any printer problem. If the problem can't be solved by the Help Desk, it will be escalated to the appropriate ITS staff. The ITS technician will diagnose the problem and initiate the contact with Office Max/US Laser, if necessary. If we determine the printer will be repaired, the cost will be covered by the Central Technology Budget.
If you contact OfficeMax/US Laser directly, your department will be responsible for the cost of repair.
