General Responsibilities

Managers and Supervisors have many day to day responsibilities, beginning with time approval--necessary for payroll.  For manager's with budgetary responsibilities, a deeper understanding of the budgetary calendar and process is vital. 

The Business Services website has a wide variety of information that can help the new (and seasoned!) manager as well as every form you might need!  A few of the highlights:

Web Time Entry (Time Approval)  Managers are responsible for approving time for all direct reports.  A manager can assign a proxy for this responsibility, however, the manager remains ultimately responsible for the accurecy of the time entered.

Budgets Some managers have responsiblity for creating and maintaining an annual departmental budget. 

Accounts Payable  Managers are responsible for approving expenses, reimbursements, and understanding the college's accounts payable policies.  New managers should review the entire Accounts Payable FAQs section for complete information.

Purchases Managers should understand the purchasing policies at Davidson--ranging from office supplies to technology services.
