New Photo Slideshows of Recent Events

December 14, 2007

The Davidson College Music Department features some of their events on the website with slideshows of photographs from these events. The latest slideshows are of the Davidson College Chamber Singers and  Concert Choir 2006 Tour, an Opera Theater performance of HMS Pinafore, and the Concert Choir's recent performance of Handel's Messiah.

Performance of Handel's Messiah

On December 3, the Davidson College Concert Series presented Raymond Sprague leading the Davidson College Concert Choir, members of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, and soloists Jacque Culpepper, Diane Thornton, James Albritten, and Dan Boye in the performance of Handel's Messiah.

With an audience of about 640 people, a record for the Concert Series, this debut performance for the Concert Choir will certainly be one to live up to. The Concert Choir, the Orchestra, and the soloists performed Part One of Handel's Messiah along with the "Hallelujah Chorus," and "Worthy is the Lamb."

Performance of HMS Pinafore

HMS Pinafore was presented by Davidson College’s Opera Workshop on Saturday November 10 and Sunday November 11, 2007 at 7:30 pm in the Tyler-Tallman Hall inside the Sloan Music Center on campus. The production of the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta was produced by Artist Associate, Jacquelyn Culpepper and accompanied at the piano by Michael Rowland.

Choir Tour 2006

In January of 2006, the Davidson College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers travelled to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall and in various churches around New York City.
