The professors, artist associates, adjunct instructors, and staff of the Music Department,  through their diverse talents and experiences, encourage and mentor students who love the art of music.  Course offerings range from traditional music theory, composition and history courses, to courses in jazz, world music, and film music, as well as applied music courses in a wide variety of instruments. In addition, there are six different ensembles open to all capable students.

Davidson College students who have majored in music have gone on to pursue graduate degrees and careers in music, law, medicine, education, religion, among others. Meet the students who choose music as a major.
