Schedule for the Exhibition Season Fall 2007

Faculty Exhibition:
Cort Savage, Russ Warren, and Ryan O'Malley

Opening Reception: Thursday, September 6 at 7 pm Gallery talk by Ryan O’Malley, Visiting Professor of Printmaking, at 7:30 pm with a reception to follow.

Exhibition Dates: Friday, September 7 - Friday, October 5, 2007

Annual Davidson Studio Faculty Exhibition features new sculptures by Cort Savage and new paintings by Russ Warren. Ryan O’Malley, Visiting Professor of Printmaking, will discuss his evocative mezzotint prints (produced by scraping and burnishing the roughened surface of a copper plate) at 7:30 pm in the VanEvery Gallery.

Open Photography Exhibition: Photography from Davidson College Students, Staff, and Faculty

Exhibition Dates: Friday, October 19 - Wednesday, December 12, 2007

Collected Light will feature works from Davidson College's vast collection of photographs by seminal artists of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. On view will be works by Arbus, Atget, Abbot, Callahan, Halsman, Kertesz, Morgan, Winogrand, and many more.

The Davidson Open is an open call to all Davidson College students, faculty, and staff to enter a photo-based work for display in the Edward M. Smith Gallery in conjunction with Collected Light.
