ITS would like to make the upgrade to Office 2007 as rewarding and trouble-free as possible. To help guide your decision, please consider:

• As with any new version, there will be a learning curve.  Be sure to review the Office 2007 Key Information.
• There's no turning back. Once Office 2007 is installed, you cannot revert to an earlier version.
• The software will be "pushed" to your computer for automatic installation. The installation takes approximately 45 minutes and you should not interrupt the process.  Your computer must be turned on, but the Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Power Point) cannot be open. 
• Some departments have elected to upgrade as a group.  If your department has an IT specialist or Banner Team Leader, you may want to check with that individual.
• Office 2003 will be supported through the end of June 2008. That means you have nine months to make the transition to the new suite of Office applications.

To request Office 2007, email the ITS Help Desk and include the Davidson College Property tag number of our computer in the body of your message.   Office 2007 will be pushed to  your computer the next business day. ITS will begin installations at noon, but the exact time your installation begins will depend of the volume of requests and network traffic.
