Friends of the Arts is pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity for members. Volunteer at a Davidson College arts event
Did you want to see the Second City comedy troupe, but tickets were all sold out? Do you want to enjoy performances by the Royal Shakespeare Company, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, or Hubbard Street 2 Dance Company for free? Members may now serve as ushers for events in the Duke Family Performance Hall and the Concert Series. Ushering is a great way to support the arts at Davidson College while enjoying performances for free! Volunteering as an usher also allows the opportunity to experience performances which are otherwise sold out. Ushers take tickets at the doors, pass out programs, and assist patrons in finding their seats. Usually ushers are asked to arrive at the event a half to one hour early, and are welcome to stay for the performance once the doors have closed. Volunteer at our fall signature event at the McColl CenterWe are also looking for members to volunteer at our fall signature event at the McColl Center for Visual Art, honoring Herb Jackson's exhibition Veronica's Veils-A Retrospective. Volunteers are needed to greet guests and direct them to the reception, as well as serve at an information table. If you are interested in volunteering at an event, please contact Kate Minogue, Assistant Director, at 704-894-2408 or kaminogue@davidson.edu.
