Club Sport ObjectivesThe Club Sports Program at Davidson provides opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to participate in a variety of sports and recreational activities. A club sport is a student organization formed by individuals with a common interest in a sport activity and exists to promote and develop interest in that particular sport. Since students develop and organize their own clubs, they have the opportunity to demonstrate and develop their leadership and decision making skills. The clubs provide a learning experience for club members as students are responsible for the organizing, funding, public relations, regulating, and scheduling activities for these clubs under the direction of the Coordinator of intramural and Club Sports. The success and strength of a club is directly proportional to the effective leadership and involvement of the club's officers and members. Clubs will be considered active only after completing eligibility requirements established by the Club Sports Council. The Club Sports Handbook contains policies and procedures that must be followed by any club. It will serve as a guide for all club members and officers in managing their club. Any questions not outlined in this handbook should be directed to the Club Sports Director, Baker Sports Complex, ext. 2786. |
