Assistant Professor Sarah Mason

Assistant Professor Sarah K. Mason earned her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia.  Dr. Mason’s research lies in algebraic combinatorics and representation theory.  At Penn, she received three different teaching awards as a graduate student.  Dr. Mason was awarded an NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship on which she taught at the University of California Berkeley in fall 2006.   In spring 2007, she participated in a special thematic semester on "Recent Advances in Combinatorics" at  the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques at the University of Montreal.  She joined the Davidson faculty in fall 2007.  Dr. Mason has broad interests, including environmental studies and the potential for service learning.  When not in the classroom, Dr. Mason is an avid triathlete.
