Dr. Raymond Sprague will lead the Davidson College Concert Choir and members of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra in a performance of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah. One of the most popular works in Western choral music, this beloved oratorio has become an essential holiday tradition. The performance will include the Christmas portion, the Hallelujah Chorus, and the Concluding Chorus, "Worthy is the lamb" of the full oratorio. The concert will feature Davidson College Artist Associates, Jacquelyn Culpepper, soprano, and Diane Thornton, contralto, joined by James Allbritten, tenor, from North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem and Tony Deaton, baritone, Associate Professor of Vocal Music at Lee University in Tennessee. Join student, faculty, staff and community musicians to celebrate the season with Handel’s masterpiece. Tickets are available at the door, online, by calling 704-894-2135, or by visiting the Union Box Office in the Knobloch Campus Center. Place your order now to reserve tickets.
