DCSO in concert

Family and friends of the Davidson College Symphony Orchestra are invited to attend the second Family Weekend on November 16 and 17, 2007.

The weekend festivities will include a full concert performed by the DCSO on Friday, November 16. A reception for students and families will follow in the Sprinkle Room of the Alvarez College Union.

On Saturday afternoon, the music faculty will perform a private recital in Tyler-Tallman Hall for students and their families. A dinner for student musicians and members of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and Oratorio Singers will follow; a separate dinner for DCSO family members take place at the same time.

On Saturday evening, November 17, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and Oratorio Singers will perform a concert, featuring a side-by-side performance with the DCSO and DC Chorale, led by the CSO’s Resident Conductor, Alan Yamamoto.

A reception for musicians of the CSO, Oratorio Singers, DCSO, DC Chorale and family members will follow Saturday evening's concert.  The reception will be held in the atrium of the Alvarez College Union.

Both concerts will take place at 8:00 p.m. in the Duke Family Performance Hall of the Knobloch Campus Center. The DCSO concert is free. Tickets are needed for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra concert, and can be purchased by contacting the Ticket Office at 704-894-2135.
