We currently offer the regular language sequence of courses in Arabic: ARB 101 Elementary Arabic I ARB 102 Elementary Arabic II ARB 201 Intermediate Arabic I The sequence of courses is intended to go from the beginning level (no previous study of Arabic) through the first intermediate level, which would satisfy the graduation requirement in foreign languages. As the program develops, we anticipate more advanced language study as well as courses in English translation suitable for students interested in the Arabic world. Such courses will effectively complement present courses in Islam and the Middle East, courses now found in the departments of Art, History, Political Science, and Religion.
