Huntersville, N.C. – On Friday, April 27th a hundred and twenty alumni and supporters of the Davidson Golf Program took to the links at Birkdale Golf Club for the 13th Annual Tom Scott Memorial Golf Tournament.

The Tournament is named in honor of Dr. Tom Scott, former Director of Athletics at Davidson from 1954 to 1975.  Dr. Scott left a thumb print on regional sports as five-term president of Southern Conference.  He will be remembered as a leader in integrating athletics throughout the South, and for helping prepare Davidson for women’s athletics in 1974. Sponsored by the Davidson Athletic Foundation, the tournament serves as an annual fundraiser for the Davidson College golf program in the form of scholarships and operating funding.
