DEPARTMENTAL RECOGNITION

Andrea Applebee ’06 received a full fellowship to the University of Pittsburgh’s M.F.A. program in nonfiction writing.

Lee Ballard ’07 received a full scholarship and a fellowship to support study for a Ph.D. in linguistics at the University of Florida.

Ida Basitiaens ’07 received a full tuition scholarship for the Masters of Public Policy program at the University of Chicago.

Sarah Bogue ‘07 has been awarded a Princeton Fellowship for full tuition and a stipend for the Masters of Divinity program at Princeton Theological Seminary.

Rob Correll ’06 has received a doctoral fellowship in physics at West Virginia University.

Kristen Cecala ’07 received acceptances and scholarships for Ph.D. study in biology from several universities.

Alex Derkson ’07 received a fellowship to the Urban Fellows Program in New York City.  The program combines a nine-month position in a branch of the NYC government with a seminar series on urban planning, policy, and local government.

Michael Duncan ’08 received a spot in the National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates program this summer to carry out mathematical research at Louisiana State University.

Andrew Hazen ’07 received the Sims Garret Scholarship for three years of full tuition at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

John Helms ’07 received a Teaching Associate position at UNC Chapel Hill for the Ph.D. program in Mathematics.

Dorothy Meiburg ‘03 received a full fellowship to attend the University of Texas at Austin’s M.F.A. program in poetry.

Elizabeth Miller ‘06 has accepted a full scholarship for a Ph.D. in Philosophy at Rutgers University

Tim Rankin ’07 received a Teaching Assistantship at Duke University for the Ph.D. program in Mathematics.

Lincoln Rathnam ’07 received a Koch Fellowship from the Institute for Humane Studies.

Sarah Robinson ’06 received a Kathryn Wasserman Davis merit scholarship to attend the Russian School at Middlebury College.

James Sanchez ’07, a neuroscience major in the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, received a full four-year scholarship to attend medical school at Washington University in St. Louis.

David Sheibley ’07 has received a graduate teaching assistantship in Physics at William and Mary.

Patrick Walsh ’06 will attend Columbia University on a five-year full scholarship for a Ph.D. in German Studies.
