Who Should Apply?

Chidsey Leadership Fellows are people who want to use their gifts and talents to make a significant difference in their communities. They are people who want to have a positive impact on the groups in which they are involved, regardless of their role.  Chidsey Fellows are people who seek to understand their own and others’ strengths and passions to help all achieve their fullest potential.  They are people who are relentless in their desire to uncover the needs of their communities and are committed to meeting those needs for the common good.  

You should consider applying for the Chidsey Leadership Fellows program if:

• You want to be able to make a significant impact at Davidson and beyond;
• You are willing to reflect on your strengths and weaknesses and take action based on this information;
• You are interested in learning about leadership theory and practice and want to apply this information to your daily life;
• You will be an active participant and leader in partnership with other Chidsey Leadership Fellows; and
• You have been and will continue to be involved in organizations that matter to you.

Being a Chidsey Leadership Fellow is a significant commitment, but one that is well worth it. Fellows must balance academics, social life, and participation in student organizations with their participation in the leadership program. However, active participation in the program will enable Fellows to develop skills that will be valuable throughout their entire lives.
