Sailing
The purpose of this organization is to increase the knowledge and appreciation of competitive collegiate sailing among the Davidson College populace.  For more information contact Michael Raymond.

Sanctuary
Service, faith, and active concern for social justice, human rights, and peace from a Christian perspective are what drive Sanctuary. Activities include weekly meetings, housing the homeless during winter months, activism on campus, and an annual Alternative Gifts Fair at Christmas.  For more information contact Sarah DeLoach.

Scholars Helping Scholars
This organization tutors and mentors local K-12 students.  For more information contact Amanda Preston.

Student Government Association (SGA)
The purpose of the senate is to contribute to the welfare of the student body in the context of the college. For more information contact Meikaela Zwieryznski.

Shades of Brown Step Team
Davidson's Shades of Brown is a step troupe composed of members from diverse dancing backgrounds.  The mission of Shades of Brown is to increse cultural diversity within our community through exhibitions of historic step performances and to represent Davidson college in competitions and other engagements on the local and national levels.  Through each performance, we desire to entertain as well as educate.  For more information contact Erica Wallace and Shantay Mobley.

SHOUT, W.riters W.ithout W.alls
SHOUT's purpose is to provide an alternative, entertaining source of news, off-wall stories, perspective/editorials, art and other pieces rooted in creativity: inspired by life and culture. By providing students with a means for personal expression, SHOUT unites the Davidson community by celebrating various passions, an opportunity to better understand differences of opinion. Catering to the on-the-go lifestyles of readers and with content light on length, yet heavy on substance, SHOUT is a compact magazine that, folded once, easily fits in your back pocket. As a monthly issue, SHOUT serves as food for the soul and a reminder of what it means to be: an active individual involved and inspired by the community and world around us. Sigma Alpha Epsilon
The North Carolina Theta chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity was established at Davidson College in 1883. Sigma Alpha Epsilon moved to Patterson Court in 1958 as one of the original houses.  For more information contact Alex Greening.

Sigma Phi Epsilon
The North Carolina Epsilon chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity was established in 1930. Sigma Phi Epsilon moved into their house in 1985.  For more information contact Chris Ryan.

Sistahs of Essence
To provide a support system to all women especially women of color. Sistah's of Essence seeks to provide an encouraging and productive outlet for women through organized social and cultural development and community service.  For more information contact Imani Bowen.

STAND
The purpose of STAND Davidson is threefold: 1) to honor, memorialize and educate about people who died under circumstances of great horror and to stand in solidarity with victims of genocide; 2) to struggle against current genocides; and 3) to ensure that crimes of such violence will never occur again.  For more information contact Abbey Thibeault or Romina Clemente.

STEPS Into the Hispanic Community
Students provide childcare and serve as tutors and mentors to Hispanic children while their parents are in English as a Second Language classes. Steps also links students to other opportunities to volunteer in the Hispanic community. For more information contact Maddie Chalfant.

Student Ambassadors (Campus Tour Guides, etc)
Student Ambassadors work with the Admissions Office to help reach out to prospective students by providing campus tours, participating in information sessions, etc.  For more information contact Steven Gentile.

Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC)
The SAAC impliments ideas to better promote academics and athletic achievement among Davidson varsity athletes.  It also encourages the Davidson students and faculty to attend sporting events.  For more information contact John Edwards.

Students for New Learning
Founded in 2000, Students for New Learning (SNL) is a student organization whose responsibility is to monitor and facilitate awareness and support for issues related to learning differences at Davidson College . SNL recognizes that students with learning differences can be and are academic, campus, and team leaders. By providing a system of support through SNL – Student Forum and SNL – Task Force Education, SNL seeks and empower students to reach their potential and to become the leaders they can be here at Davidson College.  For more information contact Jim Fichtelman.

Swing and Salsa Club
We teach the basics of swing and salsa dancing, creating an opportunity for students to enjoy dancing and cooperative learning.  We also build student confidence in social situations and dancing environments.  For more information contact Thom Dimmock.
