L.E.A.D. (Latina Empowerment, Achievement, and Development Program) The L.E.A.D. Program was developed in partnership with Ada Jenkins Latino Services for the purpose of empowering Latina women in the North Mecklenburg area to become competent candidates in entering workforce despite gender and racial bias, and any language barrier that they may face. Libertas An arts and literary magazine, published biweekly, with open submissions for creative nonfiction short stories, poetry, and art. For more information contact Emily Romeyn or Vincent Weir.
Literacy for Life Literacy for Life works to increase awareness and raise funds for Sankofa Mbofra Fie, a struggling and underdeveloped school in Ghana. The long-term goal of the organization is to raise the $120,000 necessary to build a cement structure for the school. For more information contact Kristin Booher.
