Backgammon Club The purpose of the Backgammon Club is to play backgammon amongst themselves and against other colleges and universities.
Baking Club The purpose of the Davidson Baking Club is to provide opportunities and materials for baking on campus, to promote interest and awareness of baking, and to provide an occassion for the student body to learn and implement different baking techniques on a regular basis.
Bee Club The purpose and aim of the Davidson College Bee Club shall be to allow students, faculty, and staff to have fun by familiarizing themselves with honeybees and the practice of beekeeping, using the beehives on campus as a learning tool.
B.E.S.T. (Believing Everyone Should Try) Volunteers are paired one-on-one with physically and/or developmentally challenged youth to take lessons in a variety of recreational activities, such as soccer and dance. B.E.S.T. session take place once a week for about an hour.
Bridge Club For people to learn and play bridge.
Cheerleading Davidson Cheerleading season begins prior to New Student Orientation in August with pre-season training camp for returning team members. The team cheers for all home Football, Men's and Women's Basketball games, as well as a few selected away games.
Club Sports Council A club sport is a student organization formed by individuals with a common interest in a sport activity and exists to promote and develop interest in that particular sport. Clubs may be instructional, recreational, competitive, or a combination. Students are responsible for organizing, funding, regulating, and scheduling activities for these club teams under the direction of the Assistant Director of Physical Education and Recreation. Involvement by faculty and staff advisors is essential.
Current Club sport teams include: Baseball, Crew, Equestrian, Fencing, Field Hockey, Golf, Lacrosse (M), Lacrosse (W), Rugby, Sailing, Soccer (M), Soccer (W), Swimming, Tennis, Ultimate (M), Ultimate (W), Volleyball (W), and Volleyball (M).
Davidson Cycling Club To help interested students organize road and mountain bike rides, encourage a learning environment, and help in any bike repairs that may arise.
Davidson Outdoors Davidson Outdoors offers the students, faculty, and staff of the College a variety of outdoor activities and courses throughout the year. Davidson student trip leaders lead the majority of our trips, which normally include: backpacking, coastal and whitewater canoeing, whitewater kayaking and rafting, rock climbing, caving, and mountain biking. These trips vary from one day excursions to nine day trips over Christmas Break. We also have weekly kayak rolling lessons, daily indoor climbing, bicycle repair tools, a community bicycle program, a group initiatives challenge course, and, for those who want to run their own trips, an equipment rental and trip planning resource center.
Davidson Sports Marketing Association The goal of the Davidson Sports Marketing Association is to improve and ensure attendence at Davidson Athletic Events and to promote the Davidson Athletic program with student help in the community and region.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Fellowship of Christian Athletes is the largest Christian sports organization in the United Sates. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.
Foosball Club The Foosball Club meets weekly and hosts small matches as well as a Semester Tournament. The club also participates in intercollegiate tournaments with some universities in Charlotte. Meetings take place at the Foosball table at the Union Cafe level. Beginner to advanced players are welcome to join.
Intramurals A division of the Physical Education and Recreation Department, Davidson's Intramural Sports Program provides a wide variety of opportunities for voluntary participation for all members of the college community. The goal of our program is to establish a fun and inviting playing environment for all skill levels. More than a dozen leagues and tournaments are offered to the entire college community each school year.
Knitting Society The Knitting Society is a forum for knitters, crocheters, and other stitchers to work together to serve local and world communities. The club would meet once a week in the Union for an hour to discuss projects, get instruction, and stitch together. All levels of stitchers are welcome and club meetings include lessons for those who have never stiched before. Needlework can be done anywhere and most students do the large share of their stitching for the Society's projects outside of meeting times.
P.S. Student Run Restaurant A student-run restaurant dedicated to presenting, entertaining and educational, or sometimes just purely fun meals. Students learn to cook, other organizations benefit in kind, and Davidson students have a transcendent evening.
Running Club The purpose of the Running Club is to provide the students of Davidson College with an opportunity to pursue, or to initiate, a love of running outside the established varsity teams, while still fostering a sense of "togetherness."
Sportsmen's Society The Davidson College Sportsmen's Society aims to promote friendship among all men and women on campus who hunt or fish. We intend to preserve our outdoor heritage through education, wildlife conservation, the discussion of ethical practices in the field, and the expansion of outdoor opportunities at Davidson College.
Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) The SAAC impliments ideas to better promote academics and athletic achievement among Davidson varsity athletes. It also encourages the Davidson students and faculty to attend sporting events.
