Reunion 2013 - General Information

Registration
Early-bird reunion registration will open in March 12, 2013 at a discounted price.  Regular registration will open on April 1, 2013.  The registration deadline will be Friday, May 24, 2013, after which a late fee will be applied. You may register either online or by paper through the registration brochure that will be mailed in early April. To make any changes to your reservation or to cancel, please contact Linda Kunkle at 704-894-2111 or likunkle@davidson.edu.

Attire
Dress for the weekend is casual. The Saturday class dinner attire is dressy casual, unless indicated otherwise by your class chairs. Please note that many of the weekend events will take place outside on lawns or under tents. Average June temperatures range from 61 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit. Please check the weather forecast in advance. 

Meals
Please fill out your registration information completely, and make us aware of any special meal requests. Our caterers will do their best to accommodate individuals who are vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc. However, they must know in advance. It is imperative that you submit your registration by Friday, May 24 so we can provide you with the meals you need

Children's Activities and Childcare
Bring your kids along! Reunion Weekend is structured with families in mind. There will be plenty of on-campus activities that will appeal to both kids and teens.

Childcare will be available at Davidson College Presbyterian Church on Saturday evening during class dinners for children aged 24 months to 10 years. Care will be provided by paid staff who have passed background checks. Snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the evening, but please pack your child a dinner. Registration is required by Friday, May 24 to guarantee the proper ratio of staff to children. Please register for childcare through your regular Reunion registration form. The cost is $50 per child for the evening.

A teen room will be available for tweens and teens 11 years and older during the Saturday class dinners. The room will be supervised by Davidson students hired through the Office of Alumni Relations. Games, movies and access to the college union's game tables will be available. A pizza dinner will be served and snacks will be available throughout the evening. Please register for the teen room through your regular Reunion registration form by Friday, May 24. The cost is $5 per child for the evening.

Fitness Center
The College Union's fitness center will be available through the weekend for those interested in working out. It is equipped with treadmills, bikes, elliptical, Nautilus equipment, exercise balls, and stretching mats. The fitness center is located on the first floor of the Alvarez College Union and will be accessible from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 7 a.m. to noon on Sunday.

Lake Campus

Alumni are welcome to visit the Davidson College lake campus from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Reunion Weekend. Bring a bathing suit and a picnic! As a reminder, no alcohol is allowed.

Davidson College Store
137 North Main Street, Davidson
Stop by the Alumni Welcome Center to receive your special reunion discount to be used at the newly located Davidson College Store. Store hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Candid Photos
In addition to the official class photo, a photographer will be on campus throughout the weekend to take candid photographs. These photos will be available online for download or purchase shortly after the weekend at davidsonalumni.smugmug.com. Davidson College reserves the right to use these photos in future promotional materials. If you have privacy concerns, please let us know at alumni@davidson.edu.

Welcome Center
Be sure to make this your first stop when you arrive on campus! Located in the Nancy O. Blackwell Alumni House at 420 N. Main Street, next door to the President's House, the Welcome Center is your information source for the weekend. Pick up your registration materials and your weekend schedule with all final event locations!

Parking
Parking is available at the Baker Sports Complex off Concord Road and behind the buildings on Main Street off of Griffith Street and Jackson Street.  Short-term parking is available in the Admission and Smith House parking lots on Main Street for those checking in at the Welcome Center.

Shuttles
Golf carts will shuttle alumni and guests from Baker parking lot starting 30 minutes before each event and will be available following each event to return guests to Baker parking lot or to deliver them to their next event. If you need a ride to or from campus, please call Yellow Cab of Lake Norman at 704-664-3232.

Scholarships
Davidson tries to keep Reunion costs at a minimum while offering a wide range of activities. Should your financial situation prevent you from attending, please email mahowell@davidson.edu or call Marya Howell in the Office of Alumni Relations at 704-894-2642 to discuss your options confidentially.

Refund Policy
In order to grant a refund, we must receive notice of cancellation. No refund requests will be accepted after Friday, May 24. Refunds requested prior to the deadline will be mailed after Reunion Weekend.  For registration questions, contact Linda Kunkle at 704-894-2111.

Special Assistance
If you require special assistance during Reunion Weekend, we are happy to help!  Reunion Weekend facilities and on-campus housing locations are ADA-compliant accessible buildings.  Please contact Rebekah Ayscue  in the Office of Alumni Relations at 704-894-2545 to arrange any accommodations.

Emergency Information
If an emergency arises while you are attending Reunion Weekend, family and friends may contact the campus police at 704-894-2178 (please make sure they know with which class you are associated).
