Cornelia Jeske, Würzburg exchange student '00-01, and a Visiting Fellow in the History Department at Harvard during '05-'06, has just received a prestigious two-year DFG scholarship for work on her Ph.D. in the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft Graduiertenkolleg at the University of Trier in Germany. Her thesis topic, "Schwarze Amerikaner, weiße Deutsche - Die Sicht deutscher Immigranten auf Sklaverei und African Americans (1850-1865)," has its roots in work she did at Davidson.
