Are you graduating or leaving employment at Davidson? Be sure to save your RefWorks records before you go. Only currently-enrolled Davidson students and currently-employed Davidson faculty and staff have access to the Library's RefWorks subscription, so when you leave Davidson, your RefWorks account will be deleted. To save a copy of the records in your RefWorks database: - Log into RefWorks.
- From the "References" drop-down menu, select "Export."
- For "Include," choose "All References" to copy all of your records or select "My List" or "References from..." to copy a selection of the records in your database.
- For "Export Format," choose an appropriate format. The most frequently-used formats are:
- Bibliographic Software (EndNote, Reference Manager, ProCite)
Saves records in RIS format, a tagged format supported by many bibliographic management applications. If you plan on using a bibliographic management tool in the future but don't know which one, choose this format. - RefWorks Tagged Format
Similar to the "Bibliographic Software" format above, but specific to RefWorks. Use this format if you know that you will be using RefWorks in graduate school. - Tab Delimited
Saves records with each field separated by a tab so that you can load the data into many programs, including Microsoft Access and Excel.
