If technical support in the form of PA or lighting is required for a meeting or event, please request the service through the online reservation process or notify Lynda Daniels when making the reservation. The cost of technical services is $12.00 per hour with a 2 hour minimum for each required technician. Requests must be made 7-10 working days before the event or we cannot guarantee service. Basic Sound System/PA - A basic sound system includes a sound board and speakers for the amplification of voice or music. Typically this will include a microphone and connections for a CD player/iPod, etc. Types of microphones that are available include wired, wireless, or wireless lavalier. Concert/Theatrical Performance Support - Technical Services possesses an array of sound and light systems capable of supporting a wide variety of live performances, from a small lecture or poetry reading to large concerts and dance productions. In order to assess the technical needs of a particular event, Technical Services requires a consultation with any client who wishes to present a) musical or theatrical productions, b) technically or logistically complex events, or c) contracted performances. Depending on the event, this may range from a simple email/phone conversation to multiple production meetings. Media Playback/ Multimedia Presentation - Technical Services can provide playback devices and/or connections for amplification of CDs, cassettes, computers, iPods, mini-discs, and most other audio output sources. For multimedia presentations, technical services can provide projectors and screens for viewing computer images (e.g. PowerPoint), DVDs, VHS tapes, and mini DV tapes. Document cameras, overheard projectors, and 35 mm slide projectors are also available. Please be sure to list which forms of media your event will include. Technical Services Staff
