| Davidson Summer Study Abroad Programs |

The following Davidson programs are offered during the summer. Please be sure to complete all forms listed below when applying: Part 1 - The general application Part 2 - The application recommendation forms Part 3 - The application waiver & release form FOR NON-DAVIDSON STUDENTS ONLY: In addition to the above forms, you must have your institution fill out the home school approval form and have an official transcript sent to the Davidson College Study Abroad Office. Davidson College reserves the right to cancel or modify part or all of this study abroad program should changing circumstances make it necessary to do so. Duke/Davidson Summer in Berlin Davidson College, in partnership with Duke University, offers an exciting six-week, two-course program in Berlin for summer study. Students choose from three tracks: English only; German only; or one course in German and one in English. Students with no prior German are welcome. Offered every summer. This program is open to Davidson students only. |

Davidson in England - Cambridge University This six-week program at Magdalene College explores the history and literature of Britain in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. All teaching is done by British scholars, most from the Cambridge University community, and the curriculum replicates the British educational system by combining lectures and tutorials. Students live in a dormitory with private rooms. Offered every summer. This program is open to Davidson and non-Davidson students. |

Davidson in Cádiz, Spain This is a five week intensive two course credit program with the Mundo Lengua and La Universidad de Cádiz. Coursework in Cádiz is preceded by a week of travel through Spain. Students are placed at the advanced or intermediate level of Spanish and take the appropriate grammar, composition, and cultural courses. Students live with host families. This program is open to Davidson and non-Davidson students. Offered every summer. |

Davidson in Ghana During this six-week program, participants are immersed in modern and traditional Ghanaian life at the University of Cape Coast. The Program includes a one-credit course, a non-credit performing arts course, a service project, and excursions into other region of Ghana. Ghanaian professors and artists teach all classes. Students live in a guest house near the university, two students per room. Offered even numbered summers. This program is open to Davidson and non-Davidson students. |

Archaeological Dig in Cyprus This program introduces students to the rich history and culture of the island of Cyprus. The program includes hands on training (excavation and survey) in the field, visits to archaeological and historical sites, and lectures by resident specialists. The program carries one course credit. Offered every summer. This program is open to Davidson and non-Davidson students. |

Pre-Med Program in Kenya Five to ten eligible Davidson students are selected for summer internships at a hospital in Kenya. Armed with a thorough knowledge of ten diseases, these students begin their observations of medical practice. They are mentored by physicians and make comparisons and contrasts with American medical practices. Students discussion their findings with these physicians and do an independent project. Offered some summers (continuation of a spring course). This program is open to Davidson students only. |

Pre-Med Program in Mwandi, Zambia This program offers five to ten students an opportunity to work on various research and service projects at the United Church of Zambia's mission hospital, primary school or pre-school. Participants experience the culture of the Mwandi community and Zambian society. Students participate in an independent project and a medical experience at the UCZ hospital compound. Offered some summers (continuation of a spring course). This program is open to Davidson Students only. |
