Pre-Health Professions Societies

 Alpha Epislon Delta (AED)

Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED), a national premedical honor society, recognizes students for academic excellence and service to the community. Students who have achieved an overall GPA of 3.2 are eligible to apply for membership to AED after three semesters of introductory science courses.

The purpose of AED shall be to encourage excellence in premedical scholarship, to stimulate an appreciation of the importance of premedical education, to bring together similarly interested students and to benefit health organizations, charities, and the community.

AED 2012-2013 officers are: John David Ike, President; Scarlett Murphy, Vice President; Grace Cheney, Secretary; Andrew Pak, Treasurer and Stewart Dalton, Historian.

Minority Association for Premedical Students (MAPS)

MAPS seeks to provide an encouraging and productive outlet for pre-health professional students to participate in community service within the surrounding communities, academic growth through weekend and late-night study sessions and discussions with invited guest speakers and about important medical topics.

MAPS 2012-2013 officers are: Saumya Goel, President; Renato Guerieri, Vice President; Joanna Ramirez, Secretary and George Mukosera, Treasurer.

Pre-Dental Society

The Pre-Dental Society seeks to educate students about dental careers, to offer mentoring opportunities, and to inform students about the DAT and dental school admissions.  This society intends to provide information to students who are interested in pursuing dentistry as a career.

Pre-Dental Society 2012-2013 officers are: Catherine Schricker, President; Tripp Bartholomew, Vice President; Emma Domingoes, Secretary and Katrina Ashlin, Treasurer.

Pre-Physician Assistant Society

The Pre-Physician Assistant Society seeks to educate students about careers as a physician assistant, to invite physician assistants to campus to discuss career options as a physician assistant, to bring physician assistant deans to campus, and to inform students about application issues such as the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and Central Application Service for Physician's Assistants (CASPA).

Pre-Physician Assistant Society 2012-2013 officers are: Brit Donaldson, President; Ashton Ritter, Vice President; Ann Succop, Secretary and Lauryn Bradley, Publicity Chair.
