This page will provide you with important information for setting up your computer on the Davidson College network. If this is your first time connecting we recommend following the links in order.
- Plug in one of the red network cables in your room to your computer's ethernet port (it should only fit in one place). Make sure your wireless connection is disabled to avoid connection conflicts.
- Open an internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and try to visit an outside webpage (e.g. google.com). You should be redirected to a Davidson College network registration page. Click on "Students, Faculty and Staff."
- Enter your network username and password. This is the same password you need to check your email or login to any college-owned computer. You will be directed to download and install the Bradford Persistent Agent. This will walk you through the requirements for connecting to the Davidson network. What is Bradford and what does it require?
- Follow the on-screen instructions that accompany Bradford.
If you are a first-year student and need additional help getting connected, come to our Computer Setup Fair. Stop by the Student Computing Center in Belk Residence Hall (laundry side, basement entrance) on Friday, August 21, from 10:30am - 4:30pm.
If you're still stuck, sign up for housecalls on the following dates: Belk (Sunday, August 23, 1-3pm), Richardson (Monday, August 24, 7-9pm), Little (Tuesday, August 25, 7-9m) or Watts (Wednesday, August 26, 7-9pm).
Please complete steps 1-4 before attempting to set up the DavidsonSecure wireless network.
Be sure to install Microsoft Office, PawPrint and other software after you've successfully connected to the network.
Set up your iPhone, game console or other networked devices.
Also explore the many computer lab facilities on campus.
