We encourage you to help us identify eligible award recipients. Email the Alumni Office with your nomination for the Distinguished Alumni Award or the John W. Kuykendall Award for Community Service. Please supply specific information to support your recommendation.

The Alumni Association Board of Directors considers several factors in making alumni awards. Previous winners are ineligible. Traditionally, recipients of honorary degrees from the college, current Association Board Members and Trustees, and current members of the college faculty and staff are not considered. Furthermore, the Board tries to make awards, whenever possible, to individuals in classes celebrating reunions. 

The awards are as follows:

Alumni Service Award
An award recognizing alumni and other friends of the college who have rendered and performed a high degree of service to the institution

Distinguished Alumni Award
An award recognizing alumni who have provided leadership or attained recognition on a national or regional level within their profession or business, or who have provided extraordinary service to their community

John W. Kuykendall Award for Community Service
Named for Davidson's fifteenth president (1984-97), an award recognizing alumni who have provided extraordinary service to their community, demonstrating leadership through servanthood in the spirit of John W. Kuykendall

Young Alumni Service Award
An annual award recognizing a young alumnus/a for his or her exceptional service to the college
