Placement TestIn order to facilitate registration, the Department requires that all incoming students interested in taking a basic level German course at Davidson take the online placement examination. The exam is deployed in a course management program named Blackboard and will take about 45 minutes to complete. It will test a student's basic knowledge of the German language, concentrating on vocabulary and grammatical knowledge as well as reading and listening comprehension. The exam is used for course self-placement only, and not for determining course credit. You need not study for it. You need to take this test before June 30 in order to get information you need to help you select the appropriate course level. (If you do not take it before you enroll, you will have to take it on the first day of classes.)
