In order to facilitate registration, the Department asks that all incoming students interested in taking a basic level German course at Davidson take the online placement examination. The exam is deployed in a course management program named Moodle and will take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
No student can satisfy the foreign language requirement solely by taking the test.
The exam is used for course self-placement only, not for determining course credit. If your score places you above German 201, and you do not wish to continue your study of German, you may schedule an interview with Dr. Henke to satisfy the requirement that way.
First-year students are asked to take this test before June 30 in order to select the appropriate course level. Log in using your Davidson network username and your Davidson network password (provided in your letter from Davidson ITS). If you have problems logging in, please contact the ITS Helpdesk.
If you are not a first-year student and would like to take the test, contact Dr. Henke.
