Information Technology Services

Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for providing and supporting all aspects of campus computing and telecommunications services. ITS’ mission is to work in collaboration with members of the Davidson community to facilitate the use of current and emerging information technology resources. The Davidson community served by ITS includes faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents, prospective students, retired faculty, trustees, vendors, contractors, and all other individuals and organizations that interact with the College. These individuals and organizations are provided with varying levels of access to computing infrastructure and services.

The range of systems and services provided include those that support and enrich teaching, learning, research and administration. The systems and services touch virtually every aspect of campus life and are central to the academic enterprise as well as administrative processes.

Moodle Upgrade | Learning Management System
On Tuesday May 28th, we will upgrade the Learning Management System, Moodle, from version 2.2 to version 2.4. We expect that the Moodle server will only be offline for the day. However, we are also reserving May 29th and 30th in case additional downtime is necessary. Please make note of these dates and plan accordingly. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
New ITS Partnership brings Virtual Computing to Davidson
ITS is pleased to announce the pilot implementation of a Virtual Computing Lab (VCL) environment for Davidson College's academic community. Made possible through a new ITS partnership with North Carolina State University (NCSU), VCL is an open-source cloud computing platform developed by NCSU using the Apache Foundation's Virtual Computing Lab software. The platform is widely used at a number of R1 institutions, including Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill universities.
